I first came into contact with Adam Lippes as a brand when working in fashion at Net-A-Porter. We did an exclusive collection with them and a launch event in New York. The collection was glorious and I found myself obsessed. I purchased two items from that collection and still wear them - ten years later! Since then I have been a consistent admirer and client of Adam Lippes and when I am in NYC I always, always visit the standalone store. In the UK, the brand is stocked in Harrods amongst many other retailers, particularly online (Net-A-Porter, THE OUTNET & of course their own website which ships directly to The UK and really is such a seamless, glorious website to use).
Adam Lippes himself, prior to starting his own label has SUCH established & esteemed experience that really speaks for itself. He was at one of my all time favorite brands for years and where he really made a name for himself, Oscar de la Renta and then also at Ralph Lauren. Two truly glorious brands that have such recognisable aesthetics. The classic aesthetics and focus on quality and craftmanship in these brands is carried on in Adam Lippes as a label. The fabrics used and the quality of the cut is just second to none. The brand sits up there as the top of the top for me, accompanied only by ODLR and Carolina. It is rare in todays world to find this.
When packing for the South of France and our 8 night stay at Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc, Adam Lippes not only sprang to mind for the classic luxury that suits the hotel so well, but for a special private dinner for my husbands birthday. I wore the Selima dress in beurre and the way this fabric hangs and flows is second to none. It is without a doubt the most beautiful dress I own. The twists in the fabric at the neckline add a slight grecian nod so I leant into that with the accessories, keeping them gold and adding a cuff. The slit in the fabric also adds an elegant yet a little bit sexy in showing leg in a mindful way. It really was perfect for the setting and I cannot wait to wear it again - I am taking this on vacation with me to Le Sirenuse in Positano as well as sailing around Sicily for our anniversary in September, as well as to the month in Thailand/Japan over the holidays.
I also took the Memphis dress with me which let me just say is, in my opinion, the chicest dress of all time. I wore this for dinner with simple gold heels and ODLR raffia drop earrings. I wore this to lunch with an Hermes CDC belt over the top. I wore this over a Pucci swimsuit to lunch on one of our final days when i knew I had got maximum wear out of it before needing to have it dry cleaned! I am wearing this on repeat in London for day to day, pairing it with my Goyard tote and Oran sandals for easy, breezy city style layered with sophistication.
I'm sharing some picture below - let me know what you think, and what your favorite is!
